Hamas claims this Friday to have freed two American hostages, of the almost 200 people who were kidnapped in the offensive on Israeli territory on October 7.
A spokesman for the military wing of Hamas indicated, in a statement published on Telegram cited by AFP, that an American woman and her daughter were released “for humanitarian reasons, after mediation by Qatar.”
The two freed Americans are already with the Red Cross, which confirmed their release.
On October 7, Hamas attacked Israeli territory, killing 1,400 people and taking nearly 200 hostages. In retaliation, Israel has bombed the Gaza Strip thousands of times over the past two weeks.
