A 14-year-old girl died in an intensive care unit in Italy after contracting Covid-19 despite three doses of the vaccine, the Italian press announced on Tuesday.
The young woman was admitted to Perrino Hospital in Brindisi, Italy, around 5 a.m. Saturday with fever and vomiting. During the night, her health deteriorated and the young woman was transferred to the intensive care unit, where she died.
The girl, vaccinated with the three doses, had tested positive for Covid-19 after a routine hospital test. However, it is not known if he had any previous medical conditions.
“It could be a syndrome of multi-organ dysfunction, linked to a systemic inflammatory response, that caused the death of the 14-year-old girl this morning in the resuscitation ward of the Perrino Hospital in Brindisi,” explains Fulvio Moramarco, director of the department. pediatrics of the Perrino Hospital.
The cause of the 14-year-old girl’s death is currently being investigated.
