The floods caused by Storm Babet in the United Kingdom, which caused four deaths, could last for several days, the British Environment Agency (EA) warned this Monday.
All over England, 116 flood warnings remain in effectincluding in the East Midlands and along the River Severn.
Till the date, Four people died in floods in the Shropshire and Derbyshire areas and two in Scotland.
The Environment Agency indicated that Further flooding is possible due to heavy rain expected until Wednesday in some areas of England, including around the River Severn.
“Flooding on the River Severn will continue until Wednesday and further flooding is possible in some parts of England due to heavy rainfall,” the agency said.
Until now, 1,250 properties were flooded in England.
More than 500 homes in Nottinghamshire (central England) were evacuated this Sunday and two alerts were activated due to the risk of the River Idle overflowing in the English cities of Retford and West Retford.
In the counties of Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, some rivers have in recent days exceeded their historical maximum levels, which would have been recorded in 2007.
