The coronation of King Charles III, heir to Queen Elizabeth II, will take place in London on May 6, 2023, Buckingham Palace, the official residence of the UK royal family, announced.
Charles III and Queen Camilla will be crowned at Westminster Abbey in a religious ceremony led by the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, leader of the Anglican Church.
“The coronation will reflect the monarch’s role today and look to the future, while remaining rooted in long-standing traditions and pageantry,” the statement said.
