Israeli hostage in Gaza gets Portuguese nationality

Adina Moshe, one of the Hamas hostages in Gaza since October 7, has been granted Portuguese nationality, according to information provided by the Presidency of the Republic to the Jewish Community of Porto.

This 72-year-old woman had applied for Portuguese nationality under Sephardic law a year ago, because she came from a traditional family of the Sephardic community in Turkey, of which there was family registration in the ‘synagogues and Portuguese institutions that existed in Izmir. , Edirne and others”. Taking into account that she now has Portuguese nationality, her family now has new hope that she will be released by Hamas.

It should be noted that on October 7, the couple Adina and Said David Moshe called their granddaughter to tell her that they heard gunshots on their street in southern Israel. In a video shared on Hamas social media, Adina Moshe is seen riding a motorcycle with two members of the movement in the Gaza Strip.

One of the couple’s cousins, who is a Portuguese citizen, stated that Said Moshe wrote to him that they heard gunshots everywhere and that they were hiding in a safe room. After 9 a.m. the cousin could no longer reach his uncle and aunt. “I then rushed to the hospital and helped treat hundreds of soldiers, civilians, women, men and children who had been massacred by Hamas terrorists,” he wrote in the text sent to editors.

Said that David Moshe was found dead with his hand on the door handle in an attempt to prevent Hamas members from entering.
