‘It depends’: Joe Biden does not rule out meeting with Vladimir Putin in November

The US president “has no intention” of meeting his Russian counterpart in November at the next G20 summit. But he says he is ready to meet with him if the discussions relate to the release of basketball player Brittney Griner.

US President Joe Biden said on Tuesday that he had “no intention” of meeting Vladimir Putin at the upcoming G20 summit. “It depends,” he added, particularly if the Russian president wants to discuss the fate of an American detained in Russia.

“I don’t plan on meeting him. But if, for example, he came to see me at the G20 and said, ‘I want to talk about (US women’s basketball star Brittney) Griner’s release,’ I would meet him.” .” she said in an interview with CNN.

“What I mean is that it depends,” he said.
