Former North American Vice President Mike Pence announced this Saturday the withdrawal of his candidacy for the presidency of the United States in 2024, during his participation in an annual meeting of the Republican Jewish Coalition, held in Las Vegas.
“I come to tell you that it is clear that this is not my time,” Pence said, surprising those in attendance. “I have decided to suspend my campaign for president,” he added.

The Republican, with only 3.8% of voting intentions in his party, has not expressed immediate support for any of the pre-candidates vying for the Republican nomination for the race to the White House, according to the portal fivethirtyeight.com.
Trump, leading in the polls with 56.9% of Republican support but also under pressure from legal troubles, is also an expected presence this Saturday at the meeting of the Republican Jewish Coalition.
The annual event, which traditionally serves as a backdrop for election campaigns, took on greater relevance this weekend due to the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East, with attendees expecting strong positions in support of Israel in its war against Hamas.
