The European Union (EU) called this Sunday for humanitarian aid to be allowed into the Gaza Strip “without obstacles”, including fuel and resources to protect the population affected by Israeli bombings.
“Once again, I call on the parties involved to now allow safe and unhindered humanitarian access to Gaza. This must be expanded,” European Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management Janez Lenarcic wrote on the social network Twitter).

The European leader stressed that the population of Gaza “depends on humanitarian aid to survive.”
“The depth of their despair is beyond words,” he added.
The number of Palestinians killed in the Gaza Strip by Israeli bombings since the start of the war with the Islamist group Hamas on October 7 has risen to 8,005, the Gaza Ministry of Health reported this Sunday. Gaza Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra said at a news conference that the dead included at least 3,342 children, 2,062 women and 460 elderly people.
Al-Qudra added that since the start of the war, at least 25 ambulances have been destroyed inside the Strip, controlled by the Hamas group, and 57 health facilities have been attacked.
The United Nations Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) reported this Sunday on the invasion of thousands of people to the organization’s warehouses and distribution centers in central and southern Gaza, highlighting that they took away the supplies stored there.
Israel and Hamas have been at war since October 7, after the Islamist group attacked Israeli territory, leaving 1,400 dead, around 5,400 injured and some 230 hostages taken to Gaza.
