This morning, Russia attacked critical infrastructure and military targets in several regions of Ukraine with 20 Shahed kamikaze drones and a Kh-59 guided missile, the Ukrainian air force reported.
One missile and 18 of 20 drones were shot down by Ukrainian air defenses, which, however, could not prevent an attack on a refinery in the Poltava region of central Ukraine, the head of the region’s military administration said. , Filin Pronin.
“Tonight the enemy repeatedly attacked the Poltava region with drones,” Filin wrote on the Telegram messaging platform. “Unfortunately,” he added, “there has been an attack on a refinery” in the city of Kremenchuk.
The impact caused “a huge fire” that has since been extinguished by firefighters. The refinery, the person in charge also said, also stopped operating as a result of the attack.
Ukrainian media also reported explosions in the Khmelnitsky region of western Ukraine.
According to the Ukrainian air force, the missile and part of the drones were launched from the Russian territory of Kursk. The remaining drones were launched from Primorsko-Akhtarsk, also in Russia.
