The first baby in Europe from two mothers was born in Spain

According to the report, the first baby in Europe was born from two mothers in Mallorca on Monday Mallorca diary.

Derek, who weighed 3.3 kilos at birth, was created thanks to a technique called Invocell, which allows the development of the embryo to be shared between the two women, so that the couple can conceive the child in a shared way.

The mothers are Azahara, 27, and Estefanía, 30.

The Invocell technique consists of placing a device under the cervix of one of the two women that acts as a kind of incubator, where the embryo develops during the first days and, once developed, is extracted into the uterus of its partner.

This method of assisted reproduction has the main advantage of involving both mothers more in the reproductive process, as the embryo develops inside the body and not in the laboratory, allowing both mothers to share the pregnancy.

It is the first time that this technique has been successfully applied in Europe.
