Israel carried out an operation in Syria this morning in response to a drone attack on a school in Eilat on Thursday, the Israeli military said.
“In response to a Syrian drone that attacked a school in Eilat, the Israel Defense Forces targeted the organization that carried out the attack,” the army said in a statement on the social network X (formerly Twitter).

Israel “considers the Syrian regime responsible for any terrorist act emanating from its territory,” he added.
A drone of unknown origin attacked a school in the Red Sea resort town of Eilat in southern Israel on Thursday, causing no casualties.
The Israeli military further stated that it “continues its operations to destroy the infrastructure of the Hezbollah terrorist movement in Lebanon.”
“The fighter jets attacked Hezbollah targets in Lebanese territory in response to the shots fired during the day against Israel,” the army stated.
Late in the afternoon, the Israeli army also announced that it had intercepted a missile over the Red Sea.
Since October 7 and the Hamas attacks, Israel has been waging war in Gaza against the Palestinian Islamist movement.
Israel also faces Hezbollah attacks on the border with Lebanon and attacks the infrastructure of this pro-Iran movement almost daily.
