The Finnish Government signed on Sunday an agreement worth 317 million euros to purchase the Israeli air defense system “David’s Sling”, Israeli diplomacy reported.
The “historic agreement” to acquire this air defense system, jointly developed by Israel and the United States, was confirmed by a spokesperson for the Israeli Ministry of Defense.
This air defense system can intercept ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, aircraft and drones.
The Finnish government has been increasing the defense budget since joining NATO on April 4, membership requested after the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
