The al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamist group Hamas, once again accused Israel of blocking a prisoner exchange deal, which would include the release of between 50 and 70 Israeli hostages, including women and children.
The spokesman for the Al Qassam Brigades, Abu Obeida, stated in a video that Qatar is negotiating an agreement that could lead to the release of “200 Palestinian children and 75 women” who are in Israeli prisons, although he pointed to the “delay ” from the Israeli authorities.
“The enemy has requested the release of around 100 women and children detained in Gaza,” said the spokesman for the al-Qassam Brigade, before specifying that, if a five-day truce is agreed, 50 Israeli women and children could be released. .
“The number could reach 70, given the presence of detainees from several countries, as long as the truce guarantees the entry of humanitarian aid to our people throughout the Gaza Strip,” he explained.
However, Obeida reiterated that the Israeli occupation continues to delay this process and that Israel avoids doing its part, ignoring not only the lives of Palestinian civilians, but also that of its own hostages.
The spokesperson for the Brigades stated that a soldier identified as Noa Marciano, kidnapped by the Islamist group on October 7, died in one of the Israeli bombings against Gaza.
Israel accuses Hamas of carrying out “psychological terrorism” by releasing videos of the hostages, in particular the one showing the body of soldier Noa Marciano, 19.
On the other hand, Abu Obeida stressed that “the occupation forces will continue to suffer the blows of the ‘mujahidin’ at every step they take” and maintained that “the enemy leaders are sick and have impossible dreams of eliminating the resistance, like the failed leaders. “. who held positions before them,” according to the Hamas-linked newspaper ‘Filastin’.
Meanwhile, the authorities of the Gaza Strip announced that a group of 80 citizens with Spanish passports were authorized to leave the enclave.
