France has issued an international arrest warrant for Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
According to a judicial source, cited by the France-Presse news agency, Assad is accused of being an accessory to war crimes and using banned chemical weapons in an attack that killed more than a thousand people in 2013 in Syria.
