Israeli intelligence services (IDF and ISA) have revealed images proving the discovery of a fortified Hamas tunnel, located under the Al-Shifa hospital complex (the largest hospital complex and medical center in Gaza). According to reports, it is 55 meters long and 10 meters deep.
According to information from Israel, the tunnel was only accessible from the medical center and via a staircase to the bottom of a pit that has several defenses, including an explosion-proof door. “The terrorist organization Hamas uses these types of doors to prevent Israeli forces from entering command centers and their underground assets,” they explained in a statement.
The tunnel shaft was discovered in the hospital area, under cover, along with a vehicle containing various types of weapons. “For weeks we told the world about Hamas’ cynical use of Gaza residents and hospital patients as human shields. Here is more evidence,” Israel accused.
The existence of the tunnel was denied by the Hamas news agency, which accused Israel in a statement of providing “false scenarios, fabricated stories and distorted information about the Al-Shifa Medical Complex.”
Meanwhile, the World Health Organization (WHO) announced it had carried out a mission at Al-Shifa hospital, the target of attacks by the Israeli army, and is promoting a plan to remove the establishment it described as a “death zone.” . According to the WHO, 291 patients and 25 staff remained in hospital.
