Accompanied by Republican Texas Governor Greg Abbott, the former US president served meals to Texas National Guard soldiers and other military personnel stationed at the border.
Donald Trump has presented proposals on immigration that have alarmed civil rights activists and filed numerous lawsuits.
“On my first day back in the White House, I will end all of the Biden administration’s open border policies. I will end the invasion of our southern border and begin the largest domestic deportation operation in the history of the United States.”he claimed.
Among the proposals, Donald Trump is defending a new “ideological screening” for all immigrants with the aim of preventing the entry into the United States of “communists and Marxists who hate Christians” and “dangerous lunatics, haters, fanatics and maniacs,” as well as banning banning entry to all citizens who support the Islamist movement Hamas, deporting immigrants living in the US who “harbor jihadist sympathies,” and sending immigration agents to “pro-jihadist demonstrations” to identify perpetrators.
The former US president also champions the so-called ‘Alien Enemies Act’ to remove all known or suspected gang members and drug traffickers from the United States, as well as ending the constitutional right to citizenship by birth and an end to all work permits, and cuts to shelter and transportation for people in the country illegally.
Donald Trunp also decided to revive and expand the controversial travel ban, which initially targeted seven Muslim-majority countries, a proposal that has already been challenged all the way to the US Supreme Court.
