Last Friday, the American actress Suzanne Shepherd, known for her roles in the series The Sopranos and the film All Good Guys (Godfellas, in the original title), died. She was 89 years old.
The actress died last Friday, November 17 in New York, but the news was only confirmed this Sunday by her agent to Variety magazine.
Suzanne Shepherd played Karen Hill’s (Lorraine Bracco) mother in Martin Scorsese’s “All Good Guys” (1990), and in the series Sopranos (1999-2007) she played Mary DeAngelis, mother of the character Carmela Soprano.
More recently, the actress joined the cast of The Performance, a film that premiered this year, and throughout her 40-year career she served as an acting teacher, in addition to directing theater companies in various parts of the United States.
