“There can be no lasting peace and security in the Middle East without a fair solution to the Palestinian issue,” Xi Jinping said through an interpreter, as he called for the organization, as soon as possible, of an “international peace conference.” a consensus”.

“China calls for the early convening of an international peace conference with greater authority to build an international consensus for peace,” the Chinese leader reinforced

For Xi Jinping, the international peace conference should work “to quickly find a solution to the Palestinian issue that is comprehensive, fair and sustainable.”

“Since the beginning of the last Israeli-Palestinian conflict, China has been actively working to promote peace talks and a ceasefire,” he said.

Beijing “has provided humanitarian assistance to help alleviate the humanitarian situation in Gaza” and will continue to do so.

Pretoria is hosting a virtual meeting of the BRICS – a group of major emerging economies that includes Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa – with the aim of devising a common response to the conflict between Israel and Hamas.

Fighting in Gaza has continued since Hamas gunmen killed around 1,200 people, mostly civilians, in unprecedented attacks on Israeli territory on October 7.
