Princess Diana’s iconic blouse is being auctioned. It can amount to 90,000 euros

An iconic blouse worn by Princess Diana is being auctioned by the British house Julien’s Auctions, which estimates that it could fetch a value of around 100 thousand dollars, about 91 thousand euros.

The item is a pink silk blouse created by designers David and Elizabeth Emanuel and was worn by Lady Di in 1981 when she posed next to Carlos for a photo taken by Lord Snowden, who was married to Princess Margaret between 1960 and 1978. .

The couple’s portrait was published in Vogue magazine in February 1981, announcing their engagement.

The blouse will be available from December 17 alongside pieces from Audrey Hepburn and Greta Garbo, among others.

Interestingly enough, according to statements made by stylist Elizabeth Emanuel in the documentary “Diana: Her Fashion Story,” this blouse only exists because of a problem with a customer’s dress, which was ruined by mascara when the woman tried on the garment.

It was at that point that Elizabeth and David decided to make a blouse from the leftover material. The truth is that when Vogue editors later showed Diana the wardrobe they had chosen for her photo shoot, she “fell in love” with the item, according to what Elizabeth wrote in her book, published in 2006, “A Dress for Diana “.
