The singer of “The Pogues”, Shane MacGowan, has died at the age of 65, due to health problems. The news was announced by the singer’s wife on social networks.
“I don’t know how to say this, so I’m just going to say it. Shane, who was always the light before me, my dreams, the love of my life, the most beautiful soul, the most beautiful angel, the sun and the moon “The beginning and the end of everything I hold dear was Jesus and Mary and their beautiful Mother Teresa,” wrote Victoria Mary Clarke.

The singer had recently been admitted to a hospital in Dublin, Ireland.
MacGowan, the son of Irish immigrants, was born in Kent and fronted “The Pogues” from 1982 until 2014, when the band broke up.
One of the band’s biggest hits is the Christmas classic “Fairytale of New York”, a duet with Kirsty MacColl, released in 1987.
