Hamas says three more journalists killed in Gaza

The Hamas government announced this Friday the death of three journalists in Israeli attacks in Gaza, raising to 73 the number of media professionals killed in this conflict between Israel and Hamas.

The fatalities are Muntasir al-Sawwaf, a Palestinian camera operator who worked for the official Turkish news agency Anadolu, his brother Marwan al-Sawwaf, a sound operator, and Abdallah Darwish, another camera operator, according to a press release. of Hamas. office cited by the news agency Agencia France Presse (AFP).

Hamas accounts point to the deaths of 73 media professionals since the start of the most recent conflict, which began on October 7.

However, the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) indicates 57 media professionals have died since October 7, adds AFP.

The Hamas Health Ministry also announced that 178 people were killed and 589 wounded in Israeli attacks that resumed after a week-long truce.

According to Israeli authorities, the Hamas attack on Israel killed 1,200 people, most of them civilians.

In retaliation, Israel launched military operations, including intense bombings in the Gaza Strip, a small, overcrowded Palestinian territory, which Hamas said killed more than 15,000 people, most of them civilians.
