Ukraine maintains “energy stability” despite Russian attacks

Ukraine maintains its “energy stability” despite successive Russian attacks on the country’s critical infrastructure in recent days, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said on Sunday.

“The aggressor tries to intimidate citizens and paralyze the energy sector of our country, in particular in the capital. But Ukraine is prepared to face this situation,” Shmythal told the Spanish news agency through his Facebook account. EFE.

According to the prime minister, in recent days “efforts have been mobilized” to repair the damage caused by the attacks and restore power to some 4,000 homes affected by the attacks.

The beginning of the last week was marked by successive Russian attacks, with Iranian-made missiles, artillery or drones, in the kyiv region and in other areas of the center and west of the country, such as the city of Lviv.

The main objective of the Russian attacks against Ukrainian civilian targets were critical facilities for the country’s energy supply, which was paralyzed for hours in some locations, such as Lviv, although the supply was restored in the following days.

Although the service has returned to normal, Shmyhal warned of the need to save and avoid excessive electricity consumption, both in the morning and in the afternoon.

The attacks in the kyiv region were the first in months and forced air raid alarms on the capital for several days.
