Oksana Lubnov, mother of Alex Lubnov, 32 years old and kidnapped in the Gaza Strip since October 7started a hunger strike that will only end when the son returns.
Alex Lubnov was kidnapped at the festival held at the Reim kibbutz, attacked by Hamas militants, where he worked as a bar manager. His wife, Mical, is pregnant.
“What happened the other day made me realize that nothing is done to make them return. Only We receive corpses every day. I have no hope,” Oksana Lubnov said, according to the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Aharonoth.
“Only diplomacy can free the hostages, not force. The army only brought kidnapped soldiers and corpses. If there is no agreement, there is no hope,” he argued.
The Israeli government is being criticized by the families of the hostages who remain kidnapped in the Gaza Strip for its refusal to accept a trade with the Islamic Resistance Movement after the Truce in which women and minors were released.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu maintains that military means are the only effective way to free the hostages. However, on Friday, three hostages who managed to approach Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip were shot dead by the Israeli army itself.
