Two men, aged 28 and 24, robbed a jewelry store in Goiânia, Brazil, and escaped from the 11th floor in Hollywood action movie style: by rappelling.
According to G1 news, Brazilian authorities stated that the two suspects are from São Paulo and came to Goiânia for the robbery. The two were arrested by the police on December 18.
The pair entered the building during the day, where they remained until dusk. “They entered a psychology clinic, broke through the wall and went to the jewelry store,” the police statement said.
The two detainees vandalized the jewelry store and footage captured by security cameras shows one of the suspects covering the camera with spray paint. After the robbery, they left the place, located on the 11th floor of the building, using a rope to the street, in good rappelling style.
“We don’t know this modality here in Goiás: a man who steals and abseils down,” says Colonel Marcelo Granja of the military police.
