An American woman whose parents accidentally bought $10,000 worth of Disney+ streaming vouchers desperately turned to TikTok to report the error and try to correct it, says Sky News.
Andie Coston said her parents were planning a big Christmas vacation for all 16 family members to a Disney theme park and tried to save money by buying tickets through vouchers at Sam’s Club, a discount service for members, but they accidentally spent the money of vouchers for Disney+, which would equate to ’70 years of streaming’.
The request for help on TikTok received mixed reactions, as several users wondered why a wealthy family was asking for help, but the bet ultimately paid off, as Disney caught wind of the mistake and contacted the family, announcing that it was his turn. $10,000 from Disney streams into $10,000 worth of Disney Park tickets.
Andie thanked social media users. “I’m happy. It’s resolved,” he said in a video on TikTok.
In an earlier video he had shown desperation. “We need help. It’s not about the money! It’s about making sure the money goes to the right way. “We’re leaving in six days and the park tickets are sold out because it’s Christmas. My mom is desperate, my dad is frustrated, and the kids are afraid we won’t be able to go to Disney. Does anyone know anyone who can help?” he asked.
Vouchers at Sam’s Club usually offer discounts of up to 25%, meaning the family would be expected to save $2,500 on a $10,000 expense.
