At least a man died and a woman was injured on Saturday, after a shooting at a mall in Ocalain the American state of Florida.
Police received several calls warning of shots fired inside the Paddock Mall, Ocala Police Chief Mike Balken said in a news conference broadcast on CNN, adding that the calls described an “active shooter” scenario and authorities responded with “a strong police presence.”
“Police officers immediately entered the shopping center and discovered that This was not an active shooter situation.”Balken said, explaining that officers described the incident as a planned act of violence.
The people were removed from the scene and there is no threat, the police force reported on the social network Facebook.
The police chief confirmed that An adult man was found dead in the shopping center. from gunshot wounds and added that a woman suffered a gunshot wound to the legso she had to be taken to the hospital.
Police are still searching for the suspect.
