North American airline Spirit Airlines made an incredible mistake by putting a six-year-old child on the wrong plane when she traveled alone to spend Christmas with her grandmother.
It all happened last Thursday. According to the Wink-TV station, the boy’s first plane trip would be to Fort Myers, Florida, where his grandmother Maria Ramos was waiting at the airport. However, the airline put him on a plane to Orlando, also in the state of Florida, but about four hours away from what was supposed to be his destination.
Maria Ramos was already at the airport when she was told that her grandson had missed his flight. ‘I said he couldn’t have missed the flight because the company’s application said he had Check in“, he said. And only when the plane arrived in Orlando was it announced that the child had boarded the wrong plane.
Spirit Airlines told Wink-TV that the child “was always under the care and supervision of team members” and that once they discovered the error, “immediate steps were taken to communicate with the family.”
“We take the safety and responsibility of transporting all of our passengers seriously and are conducting an internal investigation,” the company said.
