Five crew members of a Japanese Coast Guard plane die in a collision with a commercial airliner

Five members of the Japanese Coast Guard died this Tuesday in the collision of a plane with a commercial plane at a Tokyo airport, which forced the evacuation of about 400 people and caused a large fire, according to authorities.

All five crew members of the Japanese Coast Guard plane were missing after the collision with a Japan Airlines plane at Tokyo International Airport, with only the pilot surviving, who was removed from the plane.

The collision between the planes occurred on the runway of Haneda airport, one of the busiest in Japan, shortly after the commercial plane landed, from the island of Hokkaido, around 6:00 p.m. local time (9:00 a.m. in Lisbon). .

All 367 passengers and 12 crew members aboard the Airbus A-350 were safely evacuated. Television images showed the plane completely consumed by flames, which firefighters were trying to extinguish.
