Russian TV mocks queues at French gas stations

Among various references to Hitler and Mussolini, Russian public television repeatedly pointed out that the sanctions against Moscow were the cause of the French social crisis.

Another perception of the economic and social context in France. Known for her propaganda programs and calls for war since the beginning of Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine on February 24. pervert channelthe first Russian public television channel, published a report that wants to show, according to its version of events, the harmful effects of European sanctions on the French population.

Chaos in France?

For about fifteen minutes, the television news on October 16 broadcast several images of queues at service stations. According to the media, these are directly attributable to the economic sanctions against Moscow since the start of the war in Ukraine. However, what the Pervy Kanal chain does not say is that the strike at the refineries has made the situation much worse in recent days.

“Gas, oil and the tears of the European Union. The inhabitants of old Europe must choose: refuel or buy food!” Ironically, according to a translation by Franceinfo, which has tainted the sequence.

In addition, and to accentuate this sense of chaos that would invade France, the same newspaper released several videos found on TikTok showing violence between motorists, as well as images broadcast on various media, including BFMTV and France 24, illustrating the endless queues. A discontent that, according to Pervy Kanal, also extends to Spain and Germany.

A reply to Josep Borell

The program goes further. The newscast also broadcast footage of the European Union’s foreign policy chief, Josep Borell, pointing out that “the European Union is a garden and the rest of the world is a jungle.” Last week, this same Josep Borell had directly threatened Russia.

In response, Russian public television, always provocative, broadcast several images from World War II, including those of Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini, claiming that “it was in this garden that German National Socialism or again Italian fascism was born.”
