The British government now has a new Home Secretary: Grant Shapps. The appointment comes a few hours after Suella Braverman’s departure.
On the website of the British executive it is read, in a brief note, that King Carlos III “had the pleasure of approving” the appointment.
British Home Secretary Suella Braverman justified her decision to resign with contempt for security regulations, but also criticized Prime Minister Liz Truss.
Braverman explained that today he sent an official document of his personal address to a deputy, accepting that it was “a technical violation of the rules.”
The document, he added, was a draft of a written declaration on immigration policy, the content of which was already known.
Braverman said that she was the one who realized the error and emphasized that the resignation was voluntary.
