UK: Rishi Sunak appointed Prime Minister by British Conservatives

After Boris Johnson, it is the turn of Penny Mordaunt, the declared candidate for number 10 Downing Street, to bow officially this Monday, through a message posted on her Twitter account. Nothing stood in the way of Rishi Sunak becoming head of the British government. He was appointed by the Conservatives in stride.

The succession crisis opened by the resignation of Liz Truss last Thursday will have been resolved even earlier than expected. Thus, Penny Mordaunt, Minister responsible for Relations with Parliament, candidate for leadership of the Conservative Party and therefore as head of the British Government, announced her resignation at the stroke of 3:00 p.m. through a message on Twitter. Rishi Sunak, a former Chancellor of the Exchequer and a strong favorite for the post of Prime Minister, will move to 10 Downing Street.
