BBC journalist Martine Croxall has been fired after being “gleeful” at Boris Johnson’s withdrawal from the race for the British prime ministerial position, according to the report. The Telegraph. The British media outlet has suspended the presenter indefinitely.
The moment that led to the pivot’s dismissal occurred during a newspaper analysis program this Sunday. Minutes after the news broke that the former prime minister indicated that she would not be a candidate to succeed Liz Truss, the journalist said, at the beginning of the segment, “can I be so happy? Well, I am!” leading viewers to accuse Croxall of flouting principles of fairness.

Minutes earlier it became known that Boris Johnson had withdrawn from the race to become prime minister.

The BBC is now investigating what happened, to judge any breach of media impartiality rules. “The BBC is urgently reviewing this Sunday’s edition of papers in the news for alleged violation of impartiality,” the statement read.
Johnson claims he had the support of 102 MPs, enough to qualify, but concludes that “you can’t govern effectively if you don’t have a united party in Parliament.”
In recent days, the British press has speculated about a possible return of Johnson to active politics, with Chancellor of the Exchequer Jacob Rees-Mogg telling the BBC that “it is clear that he will run”.
