Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday asked the international community for a financial effort to cover a $38 billion budget deficit expected by 2023 due to the Russian Federation’s invasion of the country.

For his part, US President Joe Biden said the use of a nuclear weapon by Moscow’s leaders would be an “immensely serious mistake”, while Moscow claims Ukraine has prepared the use of a “dirty bomb”, which Kiev denies. and westerners.

“Russia would make a huge mistake if it were to use a tactical nuclear weapon”warned Biden.

The Pentagon (US Department of Defense) also warned Moscow that using such a bomb would have consequences. “If Russia were to use nuclear weapons or a dirty bomb, there would be consequences,” Pentagon spokesman General Pat Ryder told media.

Speaking from Kiev, via video, to political leaders and executives gathered in Berlin, in the car of an international conference dedicated to the reconstruction of Ukraine, Zelensky urged participants to “make a decision by 2023 to rebuild the Ukrainian to cover the budget deficit.

At the opening of the meeting, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz appealed to “start immediately” on this reconstruction, estimating that it is “nothing less than creating a new Marshall Plan for the 21st century”.

For her part, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, who was also present at the conference, expressed her “confusion at the extent of the destruction in Ukraine.

“The World Bank estimates the cost of destruction at €350 billion – far more than any single country can provide alone. We all need them”.
