Russia suspends its participation in Ukraine’s crucial grain export deal

Signed on July 22 under the auspices of the UN, the so-called Black Sea agreement established procedures for 120 days to allow the export of Ukrainian grain blocked by the war.

Russia announced on Saturday that it will suspend its participation in the agreement that guarantees the continuation of Ukrainian grain exports, vital for the food supply of poor countries, after the attack of drones that attacked Russian ships in Crimea in the morning.

“In view of the terrorist act carried out by the Kyiv regime with the participation of British experts against ships of the Black Sea Fleet and civilian ships involved in the security of grain corridors, Russia suspends its participation in the implementation of the agreement on the export of agricultural products from Ukrainian ports,” the Russian Defense Ministry announced on Telegram.
