Several explosions were heard Monday morning in Kyiv, three days after an attack on the Russian fleet in Crimea, which Moscow blamed on Ukraine with the help of London.
At least five explosions were heard in the Ukrainian capital between 8 am and 8:20 am local time.
power outages
Kyiv’s districts were deprived of electricity and water on Monday morning “following the Russian attacks,” the city’s mayor, Vitaly Klitschko, said.
“Part of Kyiv without electricity and in some areas without water, after Russian attacks,” he said in a Telegram message.
The capital had already been attacked on October 10 and 17, in particular by Iranian-made Russian drones.
These strikes had affected the energy infrastructure of the capital, causing power cuts in recent days.
On Saturday morning, a massive drone strike targeted military and civilian vessels of the Russian Black Sea Fleet stationed in Sevastopol Bay in annexed Crimea. After the attack, Russia suspended the agreement on cereal exports from Ukrainian ports, vital for the world food supply
