The Chief Minister of the Civil House, Ciro Nogueira, said on Tuesday that he received authorization from the Brazilian president, Jair Bolsonaro, to start the transition process of the presidency.
“President Jair Bolsonaro authorized me. When we are provoked, based on the law, we will start the transition process,” said Ciro Nogueira, at the Palácio da Alvorada, after Jair Bolsonaro asked his supporters to stop the demonstrations, in a speech in which he did not salute. Lula da Silva, winner of Sunday’s elections.
The president of the PT [Partido dos Trabalhadores], according to her on behalf of President Lula, said that on Thursday the name of Vice President Geraldo Alckmin will be formalized. We will wait for this to be formalized to comply with the law of our country”, concluded Ciro Nogueira.
