The United Kingdom’s anti-terrorist police are investigating the attack that occurred on Sunday at an immigrant center in Dover, in the south of the country, against which three explosive devices were launched, reports the AFP agency.
The attacker would later commit suicide, according to the UK Home Office.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the Kent County Police, also in the south of the United Kingdom, said that anti-terror police are investigating this attack, in order to assess whether it was a terrorist act.
Cited in the note, the head of the anti-terrorist police, Olly Wright’, indicated that the attack on Sunday against the immigrant center would have been “probably motivated by a form of hatred”, noting that, “at this point it is not yet possible talk about a terrorist act”.
On Sunday, a British Home Office spokesman confirmed to reporters an incident at the Western Jet Foil (immigrant center), however, without providing more information.
Data released by the Ministry of Defense indicate that between 00:00 on Friday and Saturday, 990 people were detected trying to cross the English Channel from France to the United Kingdom in 24 small boats.
