US condemns North Korea’s intercontinental missile launch

In a statement, State Department spokesman Ned Price said Thursday’s ICBM launch by Pyongyang is “a violation of multiple UN Security Council resolutions.”

Pyongyang fired three new missiles on Thursday, including an intercontinental ballistic missile that created a false alarm in Japan. The launch of this intercontinental ballistic missile “appears to have failed,” the South Korean military said. Washington has condemned the launch of an intercontinental missile by North Korea.

“This launch is in violation of multiple UN Security Council resolutions,” Ned Price, a spokesman for the US State Department, said in a statement.

“The United States will take all necessary measures”

For the US official, this new shot from Pyongyang “underlines the need for all countries to fully implement the Security Council resolutions” that sanction North Korea.

Washington’s support for the defense of South Korea and Japan “remains unwavering,” warns Ned Price.

In a statement, White House spokeswoman Adrienne Watson “strongly condemns” Pyongyang’s action. “The United States will take all necessary measures to ensure the security of the American homeland, South Korea and Japan,” she said.
