Cuba faces a gigantic blackout since Friday, October 18, along with shortages of food and medicine.
Half of Havana’s residents have electricity again, however, the Cuban capital’s energy company declared this Monday, October 21, four days after the collapse of the network that caused an almost total blackout throughout the country.
“There are currently 172 circuits in operation, representing 317 megawatts,” the Havana electricity company said in a report published by the public news portal Cubadebate, adding that this represents “around 50% of customers.”
