Spain: a missing student, analysis of bones found in an incinerator

Police say the most likely theory is that she fell into a dumpster while drunk, was then put into a garbage truck, crushed in the garbage disposal and finally thrown into an incinerator.

Investigators continue their investigation. A 24-year-old student was likely crushed in a garbage truck and then incinerated after falling into a garbage container in Mallorca, Spain, police said, as reported by local media.

Agostina Rubini Medina had been missing since October 2. She was last seen after a night out with her friends in Palma, the capital of the famous Spanish island.

Without third party intervention

After the first investigations, the Spanish National Police now has a theory: the young woman, drunk, probably fainted while rummaging through a garbage container – probably to recover her phone – and was thrown into a garbage truck, crushed by the garbage disposal. garbage from the truck. and finally thrown into an incinerator.

“We excluded the intervention of third parties for several reasons. The movement of people and vehicles in the area was completely normal. At no time did we see anyone who could have stopped their car and forced Agostina to (get into the garbage) against her will” said the inspector in charge, adding that it was “impossible to survive inside a garbage truck,” Última Hora reports.

Your phone tracked

According to testimony, after leaving her friends that night, Agostina Rubini Medina stopped at a store to buy a bag of chips. The store employee confirmed that she was drunk. The student’s purse and a vest were later found, placed next to a large trash container on the street.

According to the investigation, the young woman’s cell phone remained there for about half an hour before being transferred to the incinerator plant, where it was turned off. This timeline corresponds to the garbage truck’s travel records.

Police say they found bones in the ashes of the incinerator plant. The analyzes must determine if they belong to Agostina Rubini Medina.

“The main hypothesis is that she entered the container to take something and was unlucky enough to feel bad inside the container,” said Inspector Ángel Ruiz.
