The Israeli army announces the assassination of the number two of the elite Hezbollah force

The IDF announced this Wednesday that it had “eliminated” the number two of the elite force of the Islamist movement in southern Lebanon. This elimination occurs a month after the death of the head of this unit.

Eliminations of Hezbollah executives continue in Lebanon. This Wednesday, October 30, the Israeli army announced that it had “eliminated” the number two of the al-Radwan unit, Hezbollah’s elite force. According to the IDF, this Hezbollah leader was killed in the Nabatiyé region of southern Lebanon.

This elimination comes just over a month after the death of Ibrahim Aqil, the leader of this unit, killed on September 20 in an Israeli attack in the southern suburbs of Beirut.

Hezbollah willing to continue war against Israel “for months”

“Moustafa Ahmad Chehadé prepared numerous terrorist attacks against the State of Israel,” the army said in a statement, claiming that al-Radwan had “the objective of infiltrating Israeli territory and occupying areas near the northern border.”

Since the start of Israeli bombing of Lebanon in late September, many Hezbollah executives have been eliminated, including the Islamist movement’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah. Eliminations at the cost of numerous civilian losses.

The new leader of the pro-Iran Islamist movement, Naïm Qassem, said this Wednesday that he was willing to a ceasefire with Israel under “conditions.” But he considered that there was still no serious project on the table, in his first speech the day after his appointment. Naïm Qassem, however, estimated that Israel would pay a high price if its forces remained in Lebanon and added that his movement could continue the war “for months.”
