The International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants this Thursday, November 21, against Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister, Yoav Gallant. The Israeli Prime Minister reacted by comparing these arrest warrants to a new “Dreyfus trial” and called the Court “anti-Semitic.”
“The anti-Semitic decision of the International Criminal Court is comparable to today’s trial against Dreyfus, which will end in the same way,” according to a statement from Benjamin Netanyahu’s office.
Convicted of espionage, demoted, and sent to a penal colony in late 19th century France, Jewish captain Alfred Dreyfus was exonerated and rehabilitated a few years later.
