Results that surely will not discuss. More than 100 Republican candidates challenging the 2020 presidential outcome were chosen in the US midterm elections on Tuesday, according to US media projections.
These unfounded accusations about alleged massive fraud during the 2020 elections have spread within the Republican Party thanks to the repeated statements of the former Republican president, who has not yet conceded his defeat against Democrat Joe Biden.
140 chosen from 300 candidates
About 300 Republicans who supported these conspiracy theses were candidates for national and local seats, according to a Washington Post count.
And overnight, from Tuesday to Wednesday, more than 140 of them were elected to the House of Representatives, the Senate, and local leadership positions. Among the latter, some, such as the Secretaries of State, will notably be in charge of electoral operations.
Marjorie Taylor Greene, an elected Republican from Georgia known for her excesses, was remarkably re-elected and Katie Britt won a Senate seat in Alabama.
This strip of Republicans, however, suffered a setback with the defeat of Doug Mastriano against Democrat Josh Shapiro, governor-elect of the key state of Pennsylvania.
