At least six people were killed in Nepal on Wednesday after an earthquake measuring 6.6 on the Richter scale, the Doti district official said.
The victims died buried in their home in a remote, sparsely populated mountain village in the west of the country, Kalpana Shrestha added, noting that five other people were injured.
The Nepal Earthquake Monitoring and Research Center reported a preliminary measurement of a magnitude of 6.6, while the United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported a magnitude of 5.6.
