An excellent way to start the year. In the United States, an American offered his aunt a lottery ticket that allowed him to win $1 million, a jackpot that she decided to share with the latter, reports the WHSV-TV channel.
In fact, Miran Smith offered her aunt Geraldine Smith a ticket to the raffle organized for New Year’s Eve in Virginia. That ticket turned out to be one of the grand prize winners valued at $1 million, according to the Virginia Lottery.
After the winning numbers were announced on January 1, the nephew called his aunt and asked her to verify the ticket number. When she did, he told her, “You’re a millionaire!” and she responded, “really?” the lottery’s official website reports.
The ticket was one of five raffle tickets the nephew bought at a store. He and his aunt decided to split the million dollar prize and each took half. Four more tickets worth $1 million were sold in the state.
