GOP Denial Candidates Admit US Midterms Defeat

The main Republican candidates who deny or question the results of the 2020 presidential election in the United States admitted their defeats on Wednesday in the midterm elections, in which more than 165 deniers won state and federal offices.

According to projections by The Washington Post, of the 291 denier candidates who competed in Tuesday’s election, 165 won, including Florida Governor Ron De Santis, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul and Indiana House Representative Greg Pence (brother of former US Vice President Mike Pence).

In the US House of Representatives, to date, at least 143 denial Republican candidates have carried their constituencies, according to projections.

However, among the deniers who admitted their defeats, perhaps the most impressive was Mehmet Oz, who this morning accepted his failure in a phone call with his Democratic opponent, John Fetterman, in the race for a seat in the Pennsylvania Senate, according to the progressive campaign, quoted by The Washington Post.

In Michigan, the Republican candidate for governor, Tudor Dixon, waited until today to accept his defeat, although, on Tuesday night, the projections already gave the Democrat Gretchen Whitmer as the winner.

Also in the same state, another of the most prominent figures in the denial movement, the Republican candidate for state attorney general, Matthew Deperno, acknowledged on Twitter his defeat against Democrat Dana Nessel.

“Although I recognize today [a minha derrota] to Dana Nessel, I refuse to admit that Michigan is a blue state [cor do Partido Democrata]Deperno wrote.
