It is an impromptu call received by Volodymyr Zelensky on Wednesday, March 19. While responding to journalists during a videoconference, the Ukrainian president was interrupted by a call from Emmanuel Macron.
“Allo! Sorry, Emmanuel. I’m in a conversation with journalists. Can I remember you in 20 minutes? Thank you! Goodbye!”
“We have close relationships between our countries. He helps a lot. I am very grateful to him. I will remember it after our conversation,” he said, saying that he will talk to his French counterpart “on average once a day.”
A visit to Zelensky in France “next week”
The president of Ukraine also announced Wednesday that he will go to France “next week” and that there would be “several meetings.”
The last trip of Volodymyr Zelensky in France dates back to December 7 for the reopening of the Notre-Dame Cathedral of Paris. Then he met Emmanuel Macron and Donald Trump at the Palais de L’Ellsée.
This Monday, March 17, in X, the Ukrainian leader described a call with his French counterpart as “very constructive as always”, proof of good relations between Paris and kyiv.
