“This act of genocide by Ukrainians in response to my peace plan is a cynical slap in the face to the G20 and the world,” Volodymyr Zelensky wrote online Tuesday night.
In fact, Ukraine was hit on Tuesday by Russian attacks of an unprecedented scale according to Kyiv – a hundred missiles – against energy networks that made the situation “critical”. Thus, it puts Russia even more at odds with the G20 summit, already rejected by Vladimir Putin.
These attacks, which killed at least one person in Kyiv but relief operations were still ongoing, led to widespread power outages in Ukraine and even in neighboring Moldova, on the EU’s doorstep.
More than seven million Ukrainian homes are without power after fresh Russian attacks on the country’s power grid, Ukraine’s presidency said on Tuesday.
