Missile crashed in Poland: Belgium says blast was caused by ‘Ukrainian air defense systems’

On Tuesday, two people were killed in the Polish village of Przewodow after a missile crashed in midair.

The explosion that killed two people in eastern Poland is “the result of Ukrainian air defense systems, used to counter Russian missiles,” Belgian Defense Minister Ludivine Dedonder said on Wednesday.

“The investigations continue, currently there is nothing to indicate that it is a deliberate attack,” added the minister in a press release.

Opposing Belgium’s statements, Ukraine on Tuesday accused Russia of having hit Polish territory with a missile launch.

Moscow, which fired around 100 missiles at Ukraine on Tuesday, denied responsibility and said its closest target on Polish soil was 35 kilometers from the border.
