A case that could rekindle tensions between Paris and Algiers. Amir Boukhors, an influential Algerian who opposes the Algerian regime, spoke on Saturday, April 12 in France 2 about the kidnapping attempt, which he said he was the victim.
A case in which three men, one of whom works in one of Algeria’s consulates in France, were accused on Friday, April 11, for arrest, kidnapping, kidnapping or arbitrary detention followed by liberation before the seventh day, in relation to a terrorist company, according to the National Prosecutor’s Office (PNAT).
The 41 -year -old influencer, known as Amir DZ on social networks, where he presents himself as a “research journalist” who was the victim of a kidnapping in the French soil last year.
The man says it is at 11:30 pm on April 29, 2024, when a car awaits him in front of his home, south of Paris. “I see a lighthouse and four people who descend from the car with a police bracelet. (…) They put the wives and said that a judicial police officer was waiting for me,” said Amir Boukhors.
27 hours of kidnapping
According to him, these are false police officers. Taken by force in an isolated container in Sena-Et-Marne, he said he was released 27 hours later, after being drugged with drugs.
In his complaint, consulted by AFP, Amir Dz had told the police that his kidnappers had “made the surprise” upon discovering his identity, thinking rather “that he had diverted a drug truck” and then released him.
“Around 3 in the morning, they told me that they were going to free me in one place, go directly, take the train and return home,” says the influencer.
Amir DZ is convinced that his kidnappers are actually the Algerian secret services, who came to intimidate him. Installed in France since 2016, Algeria demanded the return of the influencer to the millions of subscribers in Tiktok, hostile to the regime in place in Algiers, to judge it. He obtained political asylum in 2023.
Three accused men
After being the object of an open investigation in the prosecuting of Créteil. Then, the investigations were addressed by the PNAT last February.
Almost a year after the events, three men suspected of being involved in the kidnapping were accused and arrested on Friday. One works in a consulate in Algeria in France.
On Saturday, April 12 at night, Algiers “protested strongly” against the arrest in France of his consular agent, in “the form” and in “the substance” of the case.
An “unacceptable judicial”
Algeria recalls that “the consular agent was arrested in the middle of a public road and then placed in police custody without notification by the diplomatic channel” and denounces “Vermoulu and eccentric argument” of the French Ministry of the Interior, punishing an “unacceptable juic” relaxing “the mere of the house of the house.
“This point of judicial inflection in the investigation with the arrest of agents linked to the Algerian regime and its presentation to a judge also reveals that the events of April 29, 2024 are a state issue,” said Amir Boukhors’s lawyer, Maître Plouvier.
Particularly active in the Franco-Algerias Relations Archive, Bruno Retailleau reacted on Saturday afternoon. The Interior Minister evokes a “serious, so serious situation that it is the national anti -terrorist prosecution that directs research”, mentioning a possible act of “foreign interference.” Only one week after the visit to Algeria of the Chief of French diplomacy, Jean-Noël Barot, to try to appease tensions between the two countries.
